Gendut(Fat) is a 2015 film directed bu Eko Junianto, which was a student in Senior High School 1 Bobotsari. This film got the first winner in the Short Film Festival which was held by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. The film casts Aji, Wildan, Nurokhim, Trismon, and Harun. The film took place in Panusupan and Tunjungmuli Village, Purbalingga.
This story tells about senior high school students named Aji. Aji often gets bullied by his friend because of her fat body. Therefore, he determined to decrease his weight and get a slimmer body. Unfortunately, he took the wrong way to decrease his weight by using untrustworthy medicine without any basic knowledge about that medicine. He took the medicine over and over so that he get overdosed.
Just like another Eko Junianto's film, this film has very deep moral value. The moral value can easily be understood by the audience because this film used simple everyday language and a straight forward clear plot.
Overall, Gendut is an excellent film for any age. The humor is there. Lots of inside jokes. This is a worthwhile film to see
