A film called "gendut" is a film directed by Eko Junianto. The storyline in this film was written by Tangguh Al Fatah. This film was produced by Aris Prasetyo. This "Gendut "film was made to take part in a competition organized by the Ministry of Health in commemoration of National Health Day in 2015.
The story begins with a child named Aji who is overweight. Day by day, Aji's body grew fat so he was reprimanded by his father. Aji felt that what his father said was true, so he decided to reduce his weight. The next day Aji buys weight-loss medicine at a food stall. Medicine dealers say that the medicine works to lose weight. Aji was tempted to buy the medicine. After taking the medicine for the diet the next day he felt stomach ache. He went back and forth to the toilet. It is also done in school.
But when he returned to the shop where he bought the medicine, the seller actually said that the medicine was reacting. He instead offered a new type of medicine that was more expensive, he was lure it would be more effective than the previousmedicine. Aji tempted, as a result bought it. He mixed the two medicine. After a few days of taking the combined medicine, Aji fainted and his family took him to the hospital .
The film called "Gendut" is full of value. We are taught to live healthy, not to consume medicine carelessly. We are also taught to respect the condition of our own bodies. If it is already uncomfortable with fat conditions, choose how to lose weight properly. For example by exercising and eating less. Not even by taking drugs. There is no instant process to get good results. In this "Gendut" movie, Eko Junianto more clearly outlines the meaning contained in his film "1 liter". The audience is not too confused to guess the meaning contained in the film. Not only that, the "Gendut" movie also presents more characters or players as well as the setting of the place so that it gives the impression of not being boring. Films made by Eko Junianto were indeed raised from the problems that often occur in Indonesia. then it is not surprising if the film titled "Gendut" was won first in the film festival held by the Ministry of Health in 2015 .
From the whole, this film is suitable to watch to emphasize that health is far more important than appearance especially for teenagers who want a beautiful and perfect body with an instant process.
