The Gendut is a 2015 Purbalingga's fiction comedy film directed by Eko Junianto and written by Tangguh Al Fatah. The film casts Aji, Wildan, Nurokhim, Feri, Trismo, Ipin, Decha, Ni Mahin, Ni Lutfi, and Harun. The film was produced by Aris Prasetyo. Editor by Eko Junianto and Prio Pambudi. Cameramen by Darminto and Cahyo. The film published on Maret 6, 2019 at youtube with chanel Eko Junianto. The film visualize how the struggle a junior high kids who want to be thin but the taken wrong. The film takes the theme of healthy.
The story begins when Aji, students Junior Hingh School that overweight are struggling to change the form of his body to be slimmer to take medication pelangsing oplosan. First he just drink one medicine pelangsing usual, but because of the effects of that arise in the morning and his weight is still the same, finally he complain to a seller medicine. Therefore, a seller medicine suggests the medicine pelangsing that the same as before and herb super fast. Over the seller medicine, the students mixing the drug with “made super fast”. Unluckly, he exactly passed out of a medicine overdose and guest the oplos.
The short film by Eko Junianto conveys an easy message for the audience. Ideas taken from stories are easy to digest. They are also serious in presenting pictures that fit the story. Acting of the cast is also in accordance with the story. The main character is able to play the role of a figure who wants to have a slim body. His character is very compatible with the cast, he really has a fat body. The shooting in this film is also quite interesting because it matches the atmosphere and character of the character.
Overall, “ Gendut” is an excellent Purbalingga film. The Movie was good have a very useful message for the audience. The film won first place in the National Short Film Contest held by the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) of the Republic of Indonesia. The award was given at the peak of the 2015 National Health Day in Jakarta. This is a worthwhile and amusing film to see.
